flavor and a shelf life of up to 4 months after maturity, allowing for a supply of high-quality fruit throughout the Winter season. Fruit can be prepared like a winter squash; cut lengthwise or cut the top 2 in./5 cm off, scoop seeds out and roast; perfect for stuffing. Best grown in-ground. High proportion of uniform fruit – around 1 lb./454 g each – means less grading for the fresh market farmer and satisfaction for the home gardener.
